For each input video chunk of the video portion of the input media stream, the method includes assigning the input video chunk to one or more slave transcoders (220), splitting the input video chunk into video subchunks (234), and separately feeding each input video sub chunk to each of the transcoder(s). The method includes separately receiving output video subchunks (235) from the slave transcoder(s). Each output video subchunk respectively corresponds to one of the input video subchunks. The method also includes assembling the output video subchunks into an output video chunk (236) corresponding to the input video chunk and assembling the output video chunks into an output media stream (239).

    • A system and method provide an audio/video coding system for adaptively transcoding audio streams based on content characteristics of the audio streams. An audio stream metadata extraction module of the system is configured to extract metadata of a source audio stream. An audio stream classification module of the system is configured to classify the source audio stream into one of the several audio content categories based on the metadata of the source audio stream. An adaptive audio encoder of the system is configured to determine one or more transcoding parameters including target bitrate and sampling rate based on the metadata and classification of the source audio stream. An adaptive audio transcoder of the system is configured to transcode the source audio stream into an output audio stream using the transcoding parameters.

    • Systems and methods for processing a live video stream are provided. An ingestion component receives segments of a live video stream in association with a request to process the live video stream. A control component generates an instruction graph for the live video stream based on predetermined criteria. The instruction graph defines a workflow for processing the live video stream, the workflow comprising a set of services for processing the segments. A transcoding component employs a subset of the services to process the segments based at least in part on the instruction graph and a distribution component then streams the segments to a device in response finishing process of the segments. With the live video processing system, segments of a video stream are processed and distributed as they are received. Thus segments of the video stream are processed and distributed prior to processing of the entire video stream.

    • A system for providing video processing feedback to content providers uploading a video file. As the content provider uploads a video file to the video processing server, the server processes the uploading file and extracts representative video frames from the video file. The video processing server embeds the representative frames into a processing feedback page hosted on a web server in the video processing server. Each representative frame in the feedback page represents a part of the uploading video. The feedback page is accessible through the content provider's browser and the feedback page includes a sequence of representative frames in temporal order. In one embodiment, the representative frames in the feedback page are colored or shaded to indicate whether the video part represented by a particular frame has been processed.
