摘要： The present disclosure relates to a discharge lamp comprising a discharge vessel, electrodes extending into said vessel, wherein the fill includes an inert gas, a source of mercury, indium iodide, and a further halide component including a sodium halide, a thallium halide, at least one of a calcium halide and a strontium halide and at least one of a rare earth halide selected from the group consisting of lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, and samarium, and combinations thereof. The lamp exhibits an improved color point, Dccy and CRI. More specifically, the invention provides a ceramic metal halide (CMH) lamp exhibiting improved color point, Dccy and CRI with little or no loss in other lamp performance parameters. For example, the lamp in accord with at least one embodiment of the invention exhibits excellent lumen output, lamp CCT, and efficacy, in addition to improved color parameters. In one embodiment, the lamp demonstrating these characteristics is a CMH lamp having low levels of indium iodide included in the dose thereof.

摘要： The present invention relates to high intensity discharge ("HID") lamps which have an electrically insulating arc tube 14 including a central portion 38 with an interior discharge region and two legs 42 each extending from an end of the central portion, the central portion being a larger size than the legs. Electrical conductors extend through each of the legs and are ending in electrode components which are spaced apart from each other in the discharge region. A light transmitting envelope 12 encloses the arc tube, and a frame member 16,18 is electrically attached to one of the electrical conductors. An ignition aid 73-76 is provided which includes an electrically conductive element 73 disposed on one of the legs. The ignition aid includes a conductive layer 74-76 that extends from the electrically conductive element to the central portion 38.

摘要： A high intensity discharge lamp 10 includes an electrically insulating arc tube 14. A sealed shroud 12 encloses the arc tube. An electrically conductive frame member 18 is disposed inside the shroud and is electrically connected to an electrical conductor 30 that extends in the arc tube. Electrically conductive foil 26 is fastened to the frame member and forms a closed loop that encircles a leg 42 of the arc tube by an angle in a range of at least 270 degrees to 360 degrees. The foil is fastened to the frame member and can be connected to it¬ self. A distance from an outer surface of a flange of the arc tube leg to a proximal edge of the foil can range from 1.5 to 8 mm. A width of the foil can range from 1 mm to 4 mm.

摘要： A voidless CMH lamp and a method of making such a lamp are provided. The CMH lamp includes a lamp body that receives at least one end plug. The end plug is constructed from a core of cermet material received within an outer layer of a ceramic material. An electrode is placed into the cermet material. The application of heat causes the cermet material to contract and eliminate voids between the lamp and cermet material. Co-sintering of the lamp, core, and outer layer provides a hermetic seal without necessarily using e.g., a sealing frit. Sintering of the ceramic material surrounding the cermet can be also used to improve light output and photometric performance of the lamp. The creation of one or more openings or recesses in the end plug can also provide performance improvements.
