摘要： A polymer resin-molluscicidal composite for preventing and controlling damage to water distribution systems caused by Dreissena polymorpha the zebra mussel, and other undesirable sessile mollusks is provided. The composite is preferably formed of an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene and 0.1 to 20 weight per cent of a water insoluble, high melting point molluscicide which is preferably a metal salt or complex of an organic sulfur compound. Alkyldithiocarbamates, tetraalkylthiuram sulfides and the metal salts and complexes thereof are preferred molluscicides. The molluscicidal composite may be formed into structural components, such as valves, or into linings, coatings and encapsulators.

摘要： A labyrinth seal ring (1) designed to function properly regardless of its rotational orientation relative to a horizontal shaft (18) to be sealed. The novel seal ring bore is formed with a series of lands (32, 34 and 36) and grooves (26, 28 and 30) with a plurality of axially extending drainage grooves (40) cut across the axially inner lands to allow fluid to drain back into the associated housing interior. The pattern of the drainage grooves varies from land to land so that nowhere is there a direct flow path across more than two lands. The new ring will most likely be used in conjunction with a bearing isolator seal, but it may be used alone in some applications.

摘要： An anti-lock brake apparatus, method and article including a compact, fast, modulator (10) in a brake fluide conduit between a master cylinder reservoir and a brake cylinder. The modulator includes a pump (80, 88) for pumping fluid back from the brake cylinder to the reservoir in response to a particular sensed rate of retardation and a valve (112) for isolating the pump from the brake fluide passageways through the modulator during non-pumping periods. The modulator includes a plurality of separate passageways therethrough, one for each wheel or set of wheels and releases pressure in one wheel while reapplying it to another while the pump is continuously running, without one action affecting the other.
