    • The present invention provides a clip for mounting an EMI/ESD shield onto a circuit board. The clip has a first mounting member and a second mounting member arranged in a base plane for fixing to the circuit board and a first and second beams linking the first and second mounting members. The first and the second beams define a gap therebetween for receiving a portion of the shield. Each beam has an inner edge adjacent to the gap. The first beam includes a first tab projecting from the inner edge of the first beam into the gap. The first tab is deflectable to allow insertion of the portion of the shield into the gap and upon insertion of the portion of the shield into the gap, the first tab urges against the portion of the shield to prevent detachment of the shield from the circuit board.

    • Embodiments of the present invention provide a socket connector for electrically connecting an electronic module to a printed circuit board, the socket connector comprising: a housing defining a cavity configured to receive said electronic module; a plurality of electrical contacts secured to said housing and configured to electrically connect said electronic module to said printed circuit board; and a retainer connected to said housing, said retainer comprising: a metallic insert spring capable of biasing said retainer towards a closed position, and a latch portion capable of retaining said electronic module in said cavity. The retainer is configured to move during insertion of said electronic module and to return to said closed position when said module is inserted. A method of connecting an electronic module to a PCB using the socket is also disclosed.

    • An FPC connector has a main body and an actuator movably attached thereto. When at an opened position, the actuator and the main body form a space therebetween into which an FPC can be inserted. The actuator can then be rotated towards the main body to close the space, such that the FPC is sandwiched and hold between the main body and the actuator. The actuator has a pair of pivots which are received by a pair of slots formed by the pair of support plates fixed to the main body. The actuator has a pair of latches which, when the actuator rotates to the locked position, act against a lock portion of the support plates and cause the lock portions to deform resiliently outwardly. When the latches pass over the lock portions, the lock portions resumes to the original position and lock the latches.
