摘要： A system (101) for delivering a fire retardant gel mixture. The system includes a gel tank (103), a gel pump (105) arranged to draw gel from the gel tank (103), a ring main (107) connected to an outlet of the gel pump (105) and being arranged to provide a return path for recirculating gel to the gel tank (103), and a mixing valve (113) fluidly connected within the ring main (107). The mixing valve (113) includes a first inlet port (115) arranged to receive gel from the ring main (107), a first outlet port (116) arranged to return gel to the ring main (107), a second inlet port (117) for receiving water from a water source (131), a second outlet port (123) or discharging a gel/water mixture, and a movable valve element (143) which is selectively controllable between (i) a closed position in which the gel is not mixed with the water and is instead returned to the ring main (107) via the first outlet port (115), and (ii) an open position in which the gel is not returned to the ring main (107) and is instead injected into the water and then discharged at the second outlet port (123). At least one spray nozzle (121) is connected to the second outlet port (123) of the mixing valve (113) for distributing the fire retardant gel/water mixture.
