    • A sampling device (12) comprises a mounting body (16) connectable to a fluid container (10) for housing a fluid requiring sampling. The mounting body (16) has a fluid-sample flow passage (30) opening into a connector recess (36); a sample-tube connector (40) engaged with the connector recess (36); and a sample tube (32) which extends from a distal end of the sample-tube connector (40) and tightly engages with the fluid-sample flow passage (30). A cavity (48) thus defined by the connector recess (36) and the distal end of the sample-tube connector (40) is bridged by the sample tube (32). The bridging prevents or limits contamination of a fluid sample extracted from a fluid flow in a fluid container (10) to which the device (12) is attached.
