摘要： A display device is disclosed having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, in which a current driven light-emitting element is provided for each pixel, and current supplied to each light-emitting element is controlled based on input image data for each pixel for achieving display, the display device, includes a correction circuit for performing calculations based on the input image data and correction data, and correcting non-uniform luminance caused by variations in display characteristics for each pixel to produce correction data; a panel current detection circuit for detecting a panel current, which is the total current to be supplied to each pixel; and a modification circuit for modifying the correction data in response to a voltage drop due to the panel current to reduce errors in the correction data.

摘要： An organic EL display apparatus including in each display pixel an organic EL element. A drive transistor supplies a drive current that depends on brightness data and having the display pixels arranged in a matrix form. The display includes a correction gain storage unit for storing display pixel positions and a correction gain for correcting the slope of the brightness-data-based drive current of the drive transistors in the display pixels; and a correction unit for correcting pixel-by-pixel brightness data depending on the pixel position using the correction gain stored in the correction gain storage unit into brightness data for the pixel to generate corrected brightness data, each of the display pixels is displayed by driving its drive transistor in response to the data generated by the correction gain storage unit and the correction unit and supplying the corresponding organic EL element with the drive current.

Horizontal power supply lines (PVDD) are arranged in a horizontal direction and supply a current to pixels in respective corresponding horizontal lines. A switch (8) connects a group of the horizontal power supply lines (PVDD) to a first power supply line (PVDDa) or a second power supply line (PVDDb) disposed outside a pixel region in a switchable manner. Only the horizontal power supply lines (PVDD) in a group to which a pixel to be measured belongs are supplied with power from the second power supply line (PVDDb) so as to measure a current of each pixel in the group, and a current flowing into a power source (PVDDa) connected to a group to which other pixels than the pixel to be measured belong is measured, to thereby calculate a pixel current based on a difference between the two measured currents.

摘要： Embodiments relate to an organic EL panel comprising a panel driving circuit for converting R'G'B'W data into driving signals which is supplied to a pixel circuit. At a RGB -> R'G'B'W converting section, the bit width of input RGB data is greater than the bit width of converted R'G'B'W, and the characteristic curve of the amount of luminescent of W sub pixel for the input data of W in the said panel driving circuit is different from the R'G'B' curve normalized at a luminance ratio necessary for a reproduction of white color with sub pixels of RGB. An appropriate process is carried out by the RGB -> R'G'B'W converting section in accordance with the curve of input data from the panel driving circuit verses amount of luminescent to minimize an error which may be generated when a conversion is made.
