摘要： Thermoplastic bicomponent binder fiber can be combined with other media, fibers and other filtration components to form a thermally bonded filtration media. The filtration media can be used in filter units. Such filter units can be placed in the stream of a mobile fluid and can remove a particular load from the mobile stream. The unique combination of media fiber, bicomponent binder fiber and other filtration additives and components provide a filtration media having unique properties in filtration applications.

摘要： Nonwoven webs and filter media are described herein having a region that has a gradient wherein the concentration of a fiber or a property varies from one side of the region to the other side of the region. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a mixing partition downstream from one or more sources of a first and second flow stream that each includes a fiber. The mixing partition defines one or more openings that permit fluid communication between the two flow streams. The apparatus also includes a receiving region situated downstream from the one or more sources and designed to receive at least a combined flow stream and form a nonwoven web by collecting fiber from the combined flow stream. In one embodiment, a method includes collecting fiber on a receiving region situated proximal and downstream to the source or sources of the flow stream, where the receiving region designed to receive the flow stream dispensed from the source and form a wet layer by collecting the fiber.

The arrangements generally include a media pack having the first and second opposite liners, with a media construction positioned therebetween. Preferred media constructions include an upstream depth media portion and a downstream pleated barrier media portion are included. In certain preferred embodiments, a second depth media portion positioned downstream from the pleated barrier media portion, is provided. In addition, engine air intake systems including an engine having an air cleaner and an air filter element positioned within the air cleaner are provided. Methods of assembly and use are also presented.
