摘要： An automated banking machine (10) includes a lockable first fascia portion (20) which when unlocked enables access to a chest lock input device (104), inputs to which enable opening a chest door (18) of the machine. Opening the first fascia portion also enables access to an actuator (116) which enables moving a second fascia portion (22) for conducting service activities. A controller (72) in the machine selectively illuminates light emitting devices (118, 126) for purposes of facilitating user operation of the machine. Sensing devices (128) adjacent a card reader slot (28) on the machine enables the controller to detect the presence of a fraud device or unauthorized card reading devices. Sensing devices (254) adjacent a keypad (32) enables the controller to detect the presence of an unauthorized manual input intercepting device.

摘要： An automated banking machine (10) includes a user interface (12) including an opening (20). Users of the machine deliver and receive individual sheets and stacks of sheets to and from the machine through the opening. Stacks of sheets may include sheets such as notes, checks or other documents. Stacks input to the machine may include mixtures of various types of sheets. The machine operates to receive notes, process checks and perform other operations. Notes received in the machine and assessed as valid may be recycled and dispensed to other users. Notes assessed by the machine as being of questionable validity may be marked with a removable mark and subjected to further analysis. Checks processed by the machine may be imaged by an imaging device, cancelled and stored in the machine or alternatively returned to a user. Documents produced by the machine such as receipts, checks or money orders as well as notes dispensed from the machine may be assembled into a stack within the machine and delivered from the machine through the opening.

摘要： An ATM can accept a bulk stack of currency notes for deposit from a customer. The ATM includes a stack transporter (400) that can rotate an accepted stack while relocating it to a predetermined location inside of the machine. The stack transporter includes a rotatable housing (406) in which a stack holder (404) is movable. The stack holder can receive a currency stack (411) deposited in a fascia opening (412) by a customer. The stack holder is retracted to move the stack away from the opening and into the housing to completely move the stack into the machine. The housing, having the bulk stack therein, is then rotated to move the stack away from the opening and toward a stack processing area in the machine. The stack holder is then extended to expose a stack end out of the housing for stack processing.

The user interface includes a card reader (16), receipt printer opening (30), cash dispensing opening (38) and deposit accepting opening (40). A stack of notes (84) input to the machine are separated one by one from the stack through the action of at least one picking member (158, 352) and at least one stripper member (64, 162, 354). The actions of non- contact stripper rolls and a contact stripper roll are generally effective to only enable a single note to move past the stripper members. Upon sending that multiple notes have moved past the stripper members with a sensor (176, 366) the system is operative to return notes to the stack for subsequent picking trials. In some cases the stripper members may be driven so as to move notes engaged therewith relative to a note engaged with stripper member so as to reorient the notes and facilitate note separation in subsequent picking events.

Each ATM is operative to perform transaction functions such as the dispensing of cash from a cash dispenser (20). Each ATM includes at least one computer processor (100) and at least one processing client application (102) operative in the at least one computer processor. Each processing client application is operative to receive the tasks from the coordination server application and cause the at least one computer processor of each ATM to process the tasks during periods when the ATM is idle.

The ATM is operative to read account information from a card with the card reader and validate a user PIN input through the input device. Digital content dispensed by the ATM may include sound recordings such as MP3 files, video files, books, and other digital data. To dispense sound files the output device may include a sound system that is operative to output audio that corresponds to the dispensed sound recording files. The sound files may be acquired by the ATM from a digital information source on the Internet or other network. Licensing fees associated with the dispense of the digital files may be transferred to a source or licensing entity associated with the digital content.
