    • A flange connector for use in joining adjacent concrete structural members( 12), includes a central faceplate (24) having a weldable surface (26) and a pair of arms (28) that extend divergently from the central faceplate (24) that are embedded or cast into the concrete structural member (12). Flanges (38, 46) may be formed on the faceplate (24) and the pair of legs (28) to define C-shaped channels (40, 48) that taper toward the distal ends of the legs (28). A threaded aperture (30) extends through the faceplate (24) for securing the flange connector (10) to a conventional form (33) used to cast the concrete structural member (12). Each of the legs (28) includes an elongated slot (50) to receive and engage the reinforcing mesh (20) embedded in the concrete structural member (12).

    • One preferred embodiment of an improved concrete anchor (10) includes an elongated bar (12) having substantially flat parallel faces (18, 20), an inner end (14) disposed within the panel (40), an outer end (16) disposed within a recess (48) in the surface of the concrete panel (40) and side edges (22, 24) extending between the faces (18, 20). The side edges (22, 24) extend in continuously diverging relationship from adjacent the outer end (16) to adjacent the inner end (14). In accordance with another embodiment, the concrete anchor (240) includes an elongated bar (242) having flat parallel faces (248, 250); an inner end (244) disposed within the panel (280); an outer end (246) disposed within a recess (288) in the surface of the concrete panel (280); and straight parallel side edges (252, 254). The outer end (246) includes spaced, outwardly-projecting extensions (270, 272) disposed adjacent the side edges (252, 254) of the bar (242) and an elongated opening (260). The inner end (242) is complementary in shape to the outer end (246), except that a major portion of the inner end (242) is occupied by a void (262).
