摘要： The present invention provides a ground engaging tooth sub-assembly including a first and second component which are adapted to be assembled, said first component having at least one protrusion thereon to be received by said second component, said protrusion acting as a hook means, with said second component including a recess to receive said protrusion when said first and second components are connected, whereby said first and second components can be cantilevered with respect to each other. The present invention further provides a lock member for a ground engaging tooth sub assembly, said lock member including a threaded shaft having two opposed like formations for engaging surfaces of respective apertures in opposed sides of a first member of said sub assembly, wherein rotation of said shaft causes said formations to move towards or away from each other so as to engage said surfaces thereby preventing said first member of said sub assembly being disassembled from a second member. The present invention further provides shroud mounting system for mounting a shroud to an earth engaging implement, said implement being able to receive at least two respective adaptors having shroud mounting formations on respective sides thereof, with at least one mounting formation on a first adaptor being opposed to at least one mounting formation on a second adaptor when said first and second adaptor are adjacent each other when mounted on said implement, said mounting formations engage complementary formations on a shroud, whereby said shroud can be secured to said first and second adaptors. The present invention also provides a method of mounting a shroud to an earth engaging implement, said method comprising the steps of: a) providing at least two adaptors, which can receive ground engaging teeth, said adaptors having mounting lugs which extend towards each other and away from said adaptors, b) providing a shroud which is capable of protecting a forward lip of said implement, and mounting means at each end of said shroud; c) positioning said adaptors on said forward lip of said implement in a spaced apart arrangement whereby they are spaced apart by a distance to allow said shroud to extend from the side of one adaptor to the facing side of the other adaptor; d) positioning said shroud between said adaptors so that said mounting means can engage said lugs; e) locking said mounting means to said lugs, to thereby secure said shroud to said adaptors. The present invention further provides a shroud member adapted to be positioned in a generally vertical plane so as to protect a side lip or edge of a ground engaging implement, said shroud member including a generally longitudinal first bight to receive said lip or edge, and a generally downwardly opening second bight on a base region of said shroud, said second bight being able to receive a locking formation on said implement, said second bight and said locking formation securing said base of said shroud to said implement.
