摘要： Disclosed is a unique filter assembly for ensuring replacement cartridge compatibility in filtration systems having replaceable filter cartridges with lugged mounting systems. One representative filter assembly includes a representative cartridge member having a body portion for enclosing filter media and a neck portion depending therefrom. The representative neck portion of the representative cartridge includes at least one axial inlet port for directing unfiltered fluid into the body portion and at least one axial outlet port for directing filtered fluid out of the body portion. The representative neck portion also has at least two representative lugs depending radially outwardly therefrom, wherein at least one lug defines a keyed engagement surface, a leading inclined cam surface and a trailing inclined cam surface. The at least two representative lugs wherein at least one lug defines a keyed engagement surface, a leading inclined cam surface and a trailing inclined cam surface could be operatively positioned on other components of the representative filter assembly as well.

摘要： A filtering device (10) includes a head (12) intended to be permanently installed in a fluid dispensing machine and a disposable canister (14) therefor. A central chamber (34) is formed in the head which chamber is in communication with an inlet port (36) and an outlet port (38) for receiving an unfiltered liquid and supplying a filtered liquid, respectively. The disposable canister (14) has a flask shaped main body (54) with a flat top (56) and a neck (64) of substantially uniform diameter on the top. The neck (64) fits in the central chamber. A tube (72) extending through the neck (64) defines an annular clearance (82) between the tube (72) and the interior of the neck (64) which annular clearance (82) is in fluid communication with the inlet port (36). The opening into the tube (72) located at the top of the neck (64) is in fluid communication with the outlet port (38) in the head (12). A pair of tab receptacles (22, 24) on the head and a complementary pair of tabs (58, 60) on the canister are engageable with one another by 1/4 rotation of the canister to lock the canister to the head.
