摘要： A trigger sprayer is provided with a passive venting system of simplified and inexpensive construction. A gas permeable, liquid impermeable membrane is positioned over a vent opening in the trigger sprayer housing and prevents the leakage of liquid from a container attached to the trigger sprayer, while allowing the venting of air from the exterior of the trigger sprayer to the container interior. The membrane is secured to a vent opening wall of the sprayer housing that is positioned coplanar and continuous with an annular surface of the sprayer housing. This enables the use of a single flat gasket to seal around the vent opening and seal between the trigger sprayer and the liquid container attached to the trigger sprayer.

摘要： A nozzle assembly for a handheld and hand operated liquid trigger sprayer includes a nozzle housing and a flow control member contained in the nozzle housing. The nozzle housing has an oblong liquid discharge orifice and a plurality of liquid breakup channels that radiate outwardly from the orifice. The flow control member has a head with a conical surface that engages over the liquid breakup channels and together they break up a flow of viscous liquid into separate liquid streams that impact with each other at the entrance to the discharge orifice and the liquid is discharged from the nozzle orifice in a narrow, fan spray pattern of the viscous liquid.

摘要： An indexing nozzle assembly for a trigger sprayer has a manually rotatable cap mounted for rotation on a liquid spinner of the nozzle assembly. Rotation of a cap changes the nozzle assembly between an off condition, a spray condition, a second off condition, and a stream condition of the liquid discharged from the nozzle assembly. The cap can be rotated from the off position directly to either of the spray or stream positions by rotating the cap one-quarter turn in opposite directions. A spatial relationship between an end surface of the liquid spinner and an interior surface of the cap end wall that surrounds the assembly discharge orifice improves the stream configuration of liquid discharged by the nozzle assembly.
