    • An implantable tissue-stimulating device comprising a resiliently flexible elongate member (30) having a proximal end, a distal end and having at least one electrode mounted thereon. A lumen (32) extends through at least a portion of the elongate member (30) from an orifice (33) positioned at or relatively closer to the proximal end than the distal end. The lumen (32) is able to receive a stiffening element (34) through the orifice (33). The lumen (32) can be closed by a seal (35) that is pierceable by the stiffening element (34) but which at least substantially seals the lumen following removal of the stiffening element therefrom. The lumen (32) can also be closed by a plug (50) or a sealing member (72) mounted on the stiffening member. The lumen (32) can also be closed by a crimp (90) or clip (100) that is mountable around the elongate member (30) and which can compress the lumen (32).

    • A training system is disclosed. The training system includes a server. The server includes a processor, data storage, a data input/output interface, and a voice interface. The data input/output interface is configured to provide a web-based interface to a data terminal and to receive, from the data terminal and via the web-based interface, both an identifier identifying at least one voice terminal and at least one response. The voice interface is configured to transmit at least one audio test signal corresponding to at least one audio test to the at least one voice terminal. The response is a response to the at least one audio test. In one embodiment, the voice terminal and the data terminal are combined in a single device.

    • A magnetic alignment system (10) for a transcutaneous transmitter/receiver system. The magnetic alignment system (10) comprises an external transmitter unit (11) and an implantable receiver component (12) with both the external transmiter unit and the implantable receiver component having a magnet (13a, 22) to allow transcutaneous alignment of the external transmitter unit (11) and the implantable receiver component (12). The system (10) further comprises an anchor member (23) for anchoring the magnet (22) of the implantable receiver component (12) to a part of the body of a recipient, so allowing the recipient to undergo an MRI without the need to remove the magnet (22).
