摘要： A light therapy device (40) for delivering light energy to treat medical conditions in tissues (200) includes a light source (300) with one or more light emitters, which provides input light (305). A light coupling means comprised of one or more optical fibers (310) for coupling the input light into a bandage portion (100) comprising a flexible optical substrate (50). A light extraction means (30) directs a portion of the input light out of the bandage and towards one or more localized areas of the tissues. A semi-permeable transparent membrane (400), attached directly or indirectly to the substrate, controls a flow of moisture and moisture vapor to and from the tissues. A controller (16) means controls a light dosage emitted from the light therapy device.

摘要： A light therapy bandage (300) for treating medical conditions comprises a plurality of flexible sheet circuitry (350), each of which is fabricated with a serpentine pattern provided with one or more surface mounted light emitting devices (372). A flexible transparent material (470) included within the substrate (410) and the surface mounted light emitting devices are imbedded in the flexible transparent material. A semi-permeable transparent membrane (450) controls the flow of moisture and moisture vapor to and from the tissues (200). 摘要： A video communication system and method for operating a video communication system are provided. The video communication system has a video communication device, having an image display device and at least one image capture device, wherein the at least one image capture device acquires video images of a local environment and an individual therein, according to defined video capture settings, an audio system having an audio emission device and an audio capture device; and a computer operable to interact with a contextual interface, a privacy interface, an image processor, and a communication controller to enable a communication event including at least one video scene in which outgoing video images are sent to a remote site. Wherein the contextual interface includes scene analysis algorithms for identifying potential scene transitions and capture management algorithms for providing changes in video capture settings appropriate to any identified scene transitions; and wherein the privacy interface provides privacy settings to control the capture, transmission, display, or recording of video image content from the local environment.

摘要： An integrated optical system and method employs an optical concentrator, a spectral splitting assembly for splitting incident light into multiple beams of light, each with a different nominal spectral bandwidth; and an array of optical detector sites wherein each of the detector sites has a nominal spectral response and wherein the detector sites are spatially arranged to provide an arrangement of said detector sites which are spatially variant relative to said nominal spectral responses. Such a system can be used for purposes such as optical detection and solar collection to provide improved efficiency.
