摘要： Carry case for providing protective transport of an article such as a laptop computer, vulnerable to shock and disruption, which comprises an enclosure having at least front and rear sides and defining an inner storage space for reception of the article, at least one side having a portion of sufficient translucency or transparency to permit viewing and identification of the article without opening the enclosure. The enclosure is preferably made of frame members having a clear or translucent window, or optionally it may include a frame member made of a relatively sturdy plastic material, coated with a softer rubber layer of a thermoplastic elastomeric material. Cushioning material strategically placed within the enclosure provides protection for the article from unwanted shock or disruption.

摘要： A device is disclosed for providing shock absorbing, reduced friction rolling movement of carry cases such as computer cases, luggage and the like to reduce shock when the carry case is rolled over an irregular surface. The device includes a wheel housing having means for attachment to at least a portion of the carry case and defining a wheel well for reception of a wheel, the wheel being supported on an axle shaft. A spring housing is positioned on each side of the wheel for reception of a spring, each such spring being supported on a respective spring mount which is in turn supported by the axle shaft. A carry case incorporating such device is also disclosed.

摘要： The article of luggage includes a luggage main body having a bottom surface and a cavity formed to receive articles for packing; an expansion body having a perimeter defining a cavity; a foldable gusset joining the luggage main body to the expansion body; and an expansion and locking device disposed internally at opposite ends of the article of luggage. The expansion and locking device is configured to allow free movement of the expansion body in a compression direction towards the luggage main body and configured to allow locking movement of the expansion body in an expanding direction away from the luggage main body. One expansion and locking device is preferably attached to two or more walls of the luggage. After finishing packing, the luggage is closed and the user pushes the expanding member towards the base member, ratcheting the pawl past the ratchet teeth to collapse the luggage.
