摘要： A device (1) to aid advancement of a colonoscope (2) through the colon (3) of a patient comprises an elongate body (4) defining a colonoscope lumen (7). The body (4) provides a fluid tight seal (11, 12) to the colonoscope (2). The body (4) has an anchor to releasably anchor the interior wall of the colon (3) to the device to enable a colonoscope (2) to be more easily advanced. The anchor may be provided by suction apertures (8) through which a suction is applied to draw the colon into anchored engagement with the body (4). The anchor may be provided by a balloon (21) and/or foam based anchoring systems (100, 121, 131, 141, 151, 161).

摘要： An evertable tube 70 having a lumen 8 therethrough, an inflation port 71 for inflating the tube, and a self-closing valve at the inflation port. The tube 70 has an inflation port 71 for inflating the tube 70 to grip a member, such as a probe, in the lumen 8. Advancement of the member, for example through a colon, will then cause eversion of the tube 70. In this case the inflation port 71 is provided in the form of an aperture in the outer wall 2 of the tube 70. The valve comprises a sheath 72 extending from the port along a wall of the tube. The sheath 72 may be fixed to the wall of the tube 70 by any suitable means, such as by adhesive bonding. The sheath 72 may alternatively be integrally formed with the wall of the tube 70. The sheath 72 extends from the inflation port 71 along the wall of the tube 70 parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube 70 to an open end 76 of the sheath 72.

摘要： The invention provides an in-place cleaning (CIP) method for food and/or beverage processing equipment, such as milk processing equipment, fouled with a foulant such as milk fouling. The method comprises the steps of treating the foulant with an acidic solution to remove metal ions from the foulant and basifying the acidic solution thereby contacting the treated foulant with a basic solution to remove at least some of the treated foulant. The acidic solution and/or the basic solution comprise at least one chelant in an amount sufficient to stabilise metal ions in the basic solution following the pH inversion.
