摘要： A display may include an array of organic light-emitting diode display pixels having transistors characterized by threshold voltages subject to transistor variations. Compensation circuitry may be used to sense a current from selected display pixels. A display pixel may include a drive transistor, a gate setting transistor for driving a reference voltage onto the gate terminal of the drive transistor, a data loading and current sensing transistor for connecting the drive transistor to a data/current-sensing line, a light-emitting diode, an emission control transistor coupled between the drive transistor and the diode, and an anode resetting transistor for selectively resetting the anode terminal of the diode. During in-frame current sensing operations, the emission control transistor may be turned off to decouple the drive transistor from the diode, thereby blocking off any residue current and lateral leakage current that may be present at the diode.

The electronic device includes a display that has a plurality of pixels. Each of the plurality of pixels displays image data from the frame of image data for a pixel emission period that is less than the frame duration. A first pixel of a column of pixels of the plurality of pixels begins displaying the image data from the frame of image data at a first time for a first duration. A second pixel of the column of pixels that is adjacent to the first pixel begins displaying the image data from the frame of image data at a second time for a second duration. The operations may include, for example, display off-time sensing that detect aging of a display while the display is off to set compensation values for operation of the display the next time the display is on. By delaying the operations until battery charging transitions into a reduced current consumption, the battery charging may occur more quickly that if such operations are performed during a higher current demand since reduced current availability may greatly increase a duration of time used to charge the battery in the higher current demand portion of the battery charging.

Scanning driving circuitry of the electronic device scans at least a portion of one or more pixels of an active area of a display using a boot up scan before a boot up sequence of at least a portion of an electronic device completes. The results of the boot up scan are stored in local buffers and transferred to one or more processors upon connection to the one or more processors. The results of the boot up scan cause the one or more processors to modify image data to reduce or eliminate artifacts that may result during boot up due to thermal profiles or other parameters that may cause artifacts.

摘要： A display may receive image data to be displayed for a user of an electronic device. Display driver circuitry in the display may analyze the data to detect static data. The image data may contain static frames of data or static portions of a frame of data. In response to detection of static data, the display driver circuitry can take actions to avoid display damage due to burn-in effects. The display driver circuitry may reduce a peak luminance value associated with a peak luminance control algorithm, may reduce display brightness, may map image data to reduced brightness levels, or may take other actions to ensure that display pixels in the display are not damaged. Temperature information may be used in determining how to classify information as static data and in determining how significantly to reduce display pixel drive currents in response to the detection of static image data.
