    • A separation device for separating contaminants from fibre pulp suspensions, preferably produced from waste paper, comprises a cylindrical screen member (4) and a rotor (7) arranged therein. An annular inlet passage (14) for incoming suspension surrounds a tubular wall (11), which extends from the screen member (4) coaxially with the rotor (7). According to the invention, a flow deflecting wall member (16) extends towards the rotor (7) to a position in which the wall member is axially in front of an open end (12) of the tubular wall (11) and radially inside the tubular wall. Furthermore, the wall member (16) is arranged such that an annular flow passage (17) is formed between the tubular wall (11) and the wall member (16) with a cross-sectional area which is substantially less than the cross-sectional area of the annular inlet passage (14).

    • In a plate heat exchanger the heat transfer plates (7, 8) are in pairs welded together to form cassettes (6). The two plates in every cassette bear on each other via corrugation ridges (25), which are crossing each other and create a flow path (33) between them for a first fluid. The cassettes (6) bear on each other via elevations (26), which are higher than the corrugation ridges (22) on the outsides of the cassettes. Between the cassettes (6) flow paths (34) are delimited for a second fluid. The main directions of flow for the two fluids are in parallel. Each one of the mentioned elevations (26) is elongated and extends with its longitudinal axis substantially in parallel with the main directions of flow for the fluids, bridging at most two valleys (23) between corrugation ridges (22) extending next to each other.

    • A temperature sensor (11) connected to a control means is arranged after a holding section (10). Pressure sensors (17, 17') are arranged at the product inlet to a first regenerative section (5) and on the downstream side of the same regenerative. A constant-pressure valve (15) and a second diversion valve (16) are arranged downstream of a cooling section (4). A conduit (21) for return of the liquid food product is arranged between a first diversion valve (12) and an outlet pipeline from the cooling section (4). If erroneous pressure values or too low a temperature are recorded the control unit actuates the first diversion valve (12) to move to its second position in which the food product is returned to the inlet of a pasteurizer. A pressure increasing means (13) forces the amount of heat treated product present in a regenerative (5, 6) and cooling section (4) to circulate in a circulation path on the downstream side of the pasteurizer (3) in such a way that the pressure of this amount of heat treated food product is maintained.

    • There is disclosed herein methods and apparatuses for the improved recovery of fine fibers from a feed suspension consisting of long fibers, medium fibers, fine short fibers, contaminants and liquid carrier. In the preferred embodiment, a feed suspension is provided to a first filter in which it is separated into first and second fractions. The first fraction consists of fine fibers, contaminants and liquid carrier which have passed through the first filter. The second fraction consists of fibers, fine fibers and liquid carrier which have been retained on the surface of the first filter. The second fraction is then removed from the first filter for further processing or use in the paper-making process. The first fraction is then provided to a second device for separation into third and fourth fractions. The third fraction consists of fine fibers and liquid carrier which do not pass through the second filter. The fourth fraction consists of contaminants and liquid carrier which pass through the second filter. The third fraction represents fine fibers which would otherwise have been lost in the production process. The third fraction is then returned to the first filter at a location wherein the second fraction has formed. The fiber mat which forms the second fraction assists the first filter in retaining the fine fibers present in the third fraction while the liquid carrier passes through the second fraction and first filter and into the first fraction once again.
