    • The present invention concerns a process for the production of a cellulosic product comprising providing a fiber-containing suspension, wherein at least about 60% by weight of the fibers are cellulosic fibers,and dewatering the suspension on a wire to form a cellulosic fiber web, the process further comprisingadding silica-based particles to the formed web and a wet strength agent to the suspension and/or to the formed web. The invention also concerns a product obtainable by the process. The invention further concerns a dispersion comprising silica-based particles and a substantially aldehyde-free wet strength agent. A further aspect of the invention concerns a dispersion comprising silica-based particles having a specific surface area rangingfrom about 1000 to about 1700m 2 /g and a wet strength agent. Still another aspect of the invention concerns the use of the dispersion as an additive in a papermaking process.

The invention also relates to a process of producing a single layer cellulosic product comprising (i) providing an aqueous suspension of cellulosic fibers, (ii) adding microfibrillar polysaccharide derived from softwood and/or hardwood and optionally adding thermoplastic microspheres to the suspension, (iii) dewatering the suspension and forming a cellulosic product. The invention further relates to a cellulosic product obtainable from said processes. The invention also relates to a composition comprising microfibrillar polysaccharide and thermoplastic microspheres and the use thereof.

    • The present invention relates to a process for producing paper which comprises: (i) providing an aqueous suspension comprising cellulosic fibres, (ii) adding to the suspension after the last point of high shear: (a) a first anionic component which is a water-soluble anionic organic polymer; (b) a second anionic component which is a water-dispersible or branched anionic organic polymer; and (c) a third anionic component which is an anionic siliceous material; and (iii) dewatering the obtained suspension to form paper. The invention further relates to composition which comprises the first, second and third anionic components and the use of the composition as a flocculating agent in the production of pulp and paper and for water purification.
