摘要： An image reader comprises a lens unit (4) having a lens (1) of low resolution, a lens of high resolution, and a first drive unit (3) for driving the lenses and a second drive unit (5) for driving the lens unit (4). In a first resolution mode, the lens (1) of low resolution is placed in a first position along the optical axis, and the lens (2) of high resolution is not placed in a position along the optical axis. In a second resolution mode the resolution of which is higher than the first resolution, the lens (1) of low resolution is not placed in a position along the optical axis, and the lens (2) of high resolution is placed in a second position along the optical axis. In a third resolution mode the third resolution of which is higher than the second resolution, the lens (1) of low resolution is not placed in a position along the optical axis, and the lens (2) of high resolution is placed in a third position along the optical axis.
