摘要： A color filter substrate and a liquid crystal display panel equipped with the same. Generation of vacuum bubbles in a dripping method and increase of process time in an injection method are suppressed. The color filter substrate comprises a transparent substrate, at least three coloring layers provided on the transparent substrate, a first columnar structure (101) provided on the periphery of a pixel in a display region and defining a cell gap, and a second columnar structure (102) provided on the periphery of a pixel in the display region or on the outside of the display region. The second columnar structure (102) has a height less than that of the first columnar structure (101), and the difference of height between the second columnar structure (102) and the first columnar structure (101) exceeds elastic deformation range of the first columnar structure (101).

摘要： In a liquid crystal display (100), first and second liquid crystal panels are superposed on one the other. In each of the two liquid crystal panels, a color filter (21) is provided to an insulating substrate (10) constituting the liquid crystal panel. In such a way, a liquid crystal display of high display definition having an improved color reproduction range when two or more liquid crystal panels are superposed can be provided. Since liquid crystal display (100) exhibits a greatly improved contrast, it can be adaptable to a television receiver and a broadcasting monitor.

摘要： Disclosed is a color filter substrate wherein the height of a columnar spacer can be arbitrarily controlled. Also disclosed is a liquid crystal display comprising such a color filter substrate. Specifically disclosed is a color filter substrate comprising a transparent substrate, a light-blocking layer and a color filter layer formed on the transparent substrate, a plurality of columnar spacers projected from the transparent substrate, and projections for alignment control of liquid crystal molecules. The color filter layer contains a first color filter, a second color filter and a third color filter respectively transmitting light of different colors. The columnar spacers include a first columnar spacer and a second columnar spacer having different heights. The first columnar spacer has a first lower structure and a first upper structure including a layer which is made of the same film as the projections, while the second columnar spacer has a second lower structure and a second upper structure including a layer which is made of a resin.
