    • The present invention relates to a controlled-leaching coated fertilizer, and more particularly, the present invention relates to a controlled-leaching coated fertilizer including: a coating layer comprising 20 to 60 weight parts of polyethylene and 10 to 20 weight parts of ethylene vinyl acetate, which are olefin-based resins; 5 to 30 weight parts of biodegradable resin; 10 to 70 weight parts of water-insoluble talc or diatomaceous earth; 0.2 to 2 weight parts of an anionic or cationic surfactant; and 3 to 15 weight parts of starch. The present invention also relates to a method for using the controlled-leaching coated fertilizer. The controlled-leaching coated fertilizer according to the present invention is evaluated as an environmentally-friendly coated fertilizer which ensures the stable growth of rice plants through just a single application to the seedbed performed in lieu of a pre-plant application (base manure), a tillering fertilizer (topdressing at a tillering stage), and a fertilizer for grain ripening (topdressing at a young ear formation stage) which otherwise might be performed in a rice plant field, and thus reduces the amount of fertilizer applied. The method for using the coated fertilizer of the present invention is evaluated as an effective method which basically prevents water in the river from being contaminated by fertilizers applied to the rice plants prior to rice plant transplantation and flowed to the river during water drainage from the rice plant field, performed after pre-plant application (base manure) to dry the rice plant field, or from being contaminated by unskilled irrigation after the application of a tillering fertilizer (topdressing at tillering stage) and a fertilizer for grain ripening (top dressing at young ear formation stage). The method for using the coated fertilizer of the present invention is also evaluated as an effective method which basically prevents damage by birds in the rice plant field caused by over-fertilizing, and reduces labor by 80% or more as compared to conventional methods as the coated fertilizer of the present invention must be applied to the seedbed only once.
