    • The invention relates to a grapple assembly in which a single actuator is used to operate the arms of the grapple but each arm is able to at least partly open and/or close independently of the other arms. A grapple assembly comprises an elongate core comprising a linear actuator; means for connecting the first end of the elongate core to a grapple hoist; a plurality of grapple arms connected to the second end of the elongate core by a pivotal connection oriented substantially perpendicularly to the elongate core; a plurality of elastically deformable connectors, each connector having coupled directly or indirectly to a connection region of the elongate core and coupled to one of the grapple arms at a point on the respective grapple arm spaced apart from the pivotal connection of the respective grapple arm to the elongate core, wherein the linear actuator is able to be actuated to move the connection region of the elongate core relative to the second end of the elongate core to open and/or close the plurality of grapple arms, and wherein the elastically deformable connectors permit each grapple arm to at least partly open and/or close independently of the other grapple arms upon exertion of an external force on the respective grapple arm.

    • This invention relates to a connection apparatus (1) for connecting an implement to a prime mover. The connection apparatus includes a body (2) arranged to be mounted on the prime mover. The body includes a connection means for connecting the body to the implement, the connection means including at least one recess within the body adapted to attached the implement to the connection apparatus. The connection apparatus further includes a locking member (4,5) adapted to move to a first position in which the locking member engages the implement to lock the implement and the body together, and a second position in which the locking member is disengaged from the implement so that the implement can be demounted from the body. The connection apparatus (1) further includes at least one compression piston (8) and chamber (9) which is/are adapted to resist movement of the locking member (4,6) to the second position to thus prevent the implement from being inadvertently demounted from the body. A method of attaching the connection apparatus to an implement and prime mover is also described.

    • The invention is directed to a material loader for quickly and easily loading material, particularly bulk material, into a containment apparatus. Material to be loaded is placed inside a bin that is dimensioned to fit inside the containment apparatus. In use, the containment apparatus is positioned so that the bin is inside the containment apparatus and the containment apparatus or a vehicle bearing the containment apparatus is connected to a material transfer member inside the bin. Forward movement of the containment apparatus/vehicle causes the material transfer member to hold against the material while the bin slides out of the containment apparatus from the point of view of the containment apparatus, leaving the material behind. In other words, the forward movement of the containment apparatus/vehicle causes the material transfer member to pull the material into the containment apparatus. The invention may also be used for unloading a containment apparatus.
