The cable holder (1) comprises a foot part (2) and a head part (3) and a bar member (4) distancing the head part (3) from the foot part (2), so that it is possible to lift the cables (23) above e.g. a doorway (27) during construction work. The head part (3) consists of a cable fastening part (19) and a cable resting part (20) .The cable holder (1) is firstly erected on the building site (25) .Next the cable (23) is guided through the cable resting part (20) and releasable secured to the cable fastening part (19), e.g. using fastening means such as cable straps (24) or cable ties.
