The upward face (16) is partitioned into a multiplicity of partial surfaces (34) by the partition (30). After a forming start member (20) is caused to contact with the partition member (14) to bond a molten metal to a start surface (66), it is separated from the partition member (14). The molten metal is withdrawn for every partial surface (34), and the molten metal (24) withdrawn solidifies, so that a formed material (26) is formed, of which a cross-sectional shape corresponds to a shape of the start surface (66). If a forming start member having a start surface of a different shape is used, a formed material having a cross-sectional shape corresponding to a shape of the start surface can be formed.

摘要： A vacuum casting device wherein gate mechanisms (12 and 10) are closed and the interior of cavity (6) is vacuumized by a vacuum pump in a state where the sides of the gate mechanisms (12 and 10) opposite to the cavity are filled up with molten metal. A ring-shaped groove having a V-shaped cross section on the side opposite to the cavity reaches sealed portion of the gate mechanisms (12 and 10) in a state where a molten metal path (8) is closed. With this arrangement, the molten metal is led to the sealed portion from the ring-shaped groove (10e) and intrudes into minute gaps formed in the sealed portion. Then, the molten metal is solidified in the ring-shaped groove (10e) and the gaps formed in the sealed portion. Because of this, the thus solidified metal piece has a ring shape having a predetermined thickness and can be easily peeled off from the gate mechanisms (12 and 10) during mold release.

摘要： A method of vacuum casting, wherein pressure in the cavity of a mold is reduced beforehand, molten metal is temporarily stored in the molten metal reservoir and, under such conditions as above, a gate having blocked the cavity from the molten metal reservoir is opened so that molten metal may be sucked into the cavity to be cast, in which gas and/or foreign matters are effectively prevented from being dragged and sucked into the cavity. For the above-said purpose, a space is provided in the molten metal reservoir for containing gas or other foreign matters. Furthermore, the space is positioned where none of the contents can be sucked into the cavity.
