    • A cable connector includes a terminal pin secured in a nut by an insulator inserted in a half-spool retainer, a cylindrical housing connected to the retainer that receives a terminal post having a flanged first end and a cylindrical body with an axial bore, a metal ferrule, a plastic sleeve and a retaining ring. The ferrule is positioned over the body of the terminal post to form an annular space, the plastic sleeve fits over the ferrule and the retaining ring fits into the end of the plastic sleeve. The center conductor of a coaxial cable is inserted into the axial bore of the terminal post and the outer conductor is positioned in the annular space. The retaining ring is pressed into the plastic sleeve to connect the center conductor to the terminal pin, collapse the ferrule and secure the coaxial cable and plastic sleeve in the housing.

    • A connector body includes an inside surface, an outside surface, an intermediate portion, and a cable receiving end. An annular post is fixedly received within the connector body to form a cavity between the annular post and the inside surface of the connector body. The connector body and the post are configured to receive a portion of a coaxial cable in the cavity between the annular post and the inside surface of the connector body. A compression ring is positioned on the outside surface of the connector body. Movement of the compression ring from the intermediate portion of the connector body toward the cable receiving end of the connector body causes inward compression of the cable receiving end of the connector body to reduce a size of the cavity between the annular post and the inside surface of the connector body.

    • A zone or plug of porous adsorbent material, primarily activated carbon, is placed in the tobacco rod of a cigarette a short distance from the lighting end thereof. The amount of activated carbon is sufficient for effective removal of volatile smoke constituents while allowing the cigarette to burn continuously. The activated carbon traps volatile smoke constituents in close proximity to the burning coal in the first puffs of the cigarette. As the cigarette continues to burn, the burning coal consumes the activated carbon. The adsorbed smoke constituents are effectively removed without releasing them back into the mainstream smoke. Following the consumption of the activated carbon in the tobacco rod, the cigarette is unchanged from a cigarette of conventional design.
