摘要： Pre-dosed wipes and packaged systems of such wipes including a nonwoven substrate formed from renewable natural plant-based fibers or derivatives of such fibers. The pre-dosed wipe as a whole meets applicable biodegradability/compostability standards (e.g., ASTM D6400, EN13432 or the like). The wipe may be a sanitizing or disinfecting wipe, including a quaternary ammonium compound as an antimicrobial agent in the composition with which the substrate is dosed. The composition may also include water and a surfactant. The wipe may be substantially void of thermoplastic fibers, such as PE, PP, PET, as well as so-called biodegradable polyesters and the like (e.g., PHA, PLA, PVOH). The nonwoven substrate may be formed by any of various techniques, an example of which is spunlace. The formulation may have a pH of at least 5 (e.g., 6 to 8), to maintain tensile strength of the natural plant-based substrate.

摘要： Pre-moistened multi-layer wipes in which the fibrous substrate for the wipes comprises 70% or more pulp fibers. The present wipes are specifically tailored to include multiple layers that are adhered to one another with a water-resistant adhesive, e.g., which will maintain good peel strength, even when the multi-layer substrate is loaded with a cleaning composition during manufacture, and stored in such condition for an extended period (e.g., a shelf life of a year or more). The water-resistant adhesive may specifically comprise an ethylene vinyl acetate (e.g., rather than polyvinyl alcohol or other adhesives which do not adequately maintain peel strength), loaded between the layers of the substrate, e.g., up to 10 gsm. The wipe may have a peel strength of at least from 0.15 lb f -in, even after being soaked in the cleaning composition. Such pulp substrate wipes are formed from sustainable materials, while providing desired characteristics of strength and efficacy.

Methods may include providing an aqueous hypohalite disinfecting composition, and providing a spraying system that may include a hand-held spray nozzle through which the composition is sprayed during use, and a pump and associated tubing for conveying the composition to the hand-held spray nozzle. The tubing may be specifically selected to exhibit at least a 65% recovery (no more than 35% loss) of hypohalite after 24 hours of contact between the composition and the tubing. The method may further include conveying the composition from the reservoir to the spray nozzle, and spraying the composition through the nozzle, e.g., onto the target surface. A related system may include similar components. A dilute hypohalite disinfecting composition may be provided for use with the system and/or method. The system may allow interchangeable use of a quaternary amine disinfecting composition.

摘要： In-line processes for producing scrubby substrates, and related scrubby substrate cleaning articles. The process may include melting a polymer resin material, and extruding or otherwise dispensing the molten polymer resin material through one or more orifices of a heated nozzle, into a stream of hot inert gas, which attenuates the molten resin, so that the resin forms into elongated globules (rather than fibers or filaments). Such globules may have irregular cross-section and/or irregular thickness along a length of the globules. Alternatively, the molten resin may be formed into substantially continuous or discontinuous string or chain pattern of abrasive fibers, exhibiting a high frequency, low amplitude substantially linear pattern on the base substrate. In either case the globules or abrasive fibers are collected onto at least a portion of a base substrate layer to form a scrubby substrate that is more abrasive than typical meltblown materials.

A heat barrier layer may insulate a user's hand from the generated heat, and/or a handle may be attachable to the pad.
