摘要： A thin erosion control mattress system and method of protecting coastal structures and riverbanks against bearing failure and erosion from waves and current is disclosed. The thin mattress system includes geotextile fabric bonded to a tensile element (such as geogrid) and sand/gravel or other fill material confined in the mattress with connection elements (such as rivets) at specific intervals. The geogrid, which can be biaxial or multi-axial, provides tensile strength for picking during installation, improving foundation support and rigidity to the mattress system. The rivets function as spacers and tension elements to prevent bulging of the mattress, and are designed and spaced to temporarily secure the mattress in place for uniform filling and installation. The bonded geotextile-geogrid mat is typically sewn on all sides and filled with sand or gravel at designated fill ports. Further, a method of fabricating the thin mattress system is provided.

The disclosure further includes methods of processing information received from a sensor enabled geogrid by a sensor pod. In the example, the sensor pod transmits received information to a gateway device for transmitting to a backend computing system. The backend computing system then performs an analysis on the information to determine variance from an initial sensor position, and alerts of possible infrastructure failure.

The multilayer integral geogrid having one or more cellular layers is produced from a coextruded or laminated multilayer polymer starting sheet. The integral geogrid has a multilayer construction, with at least one outer layer thereof having the cellular structure. 摘要： A mix design for a polymer modified cement pavement overlay is disclosed along with a method of making and using the mix on a variety of pavement substrates. The mix includes a specific dry combination of: finely divided Elotex 2311 and 2322 or 2320 polymers; Type 2 or C144 aggregate or equivalent; Type I/II cement; Type F or Type C fly ash; intermediate length polymer microfibers; plasticizer; (optionally) calcium chloride or equivalent; (optionally) quikrete retarder or equivalent; and water. The mixture is combined and applied to the substrate in depths of about 1/8 to about 1 inch in lifts. The mixture is allowed to cure for 3-4 hours before being returned to traffic. The placed mixture exhibits preferred qualities of substrate adhesion, flexibility, tire friction, and wearability.

摘要： Disclosed are various embodiments for a sensor enabled carrier for monitoring and detecting subgrade deformation in working platforms. Working platforms are temporary structures that provide support and stability for heavy machinery (e.g. cranes, piling rigs). They are sometimes referred to as temporary working platforms as they are designed for a specific purpose and a limited lifetime. In one aspect, a sensor enabled carrier is placed within the substructure of a working platform. The sensors are configured to a sensor pod that receives the various inputs, and further transmit the signals to a gateway device. The gateway device may be configured to one or more sensor pods located at the working platform, and serves to transmit the signals to a backend system wherein computing systems interpret the received signals. The backend system may further serve as a distribution point for corrective measures or early warning system in the event subgrade deformation is detected.

摘要： A monolayer multi-axial integral geogrid suitable for stabilizing aggregate includes a plurality of interconnected oriented strands and partially oriented junctions forming a repeating pattern of outer hexagons having an array of openings therein. Oriented ribs extending inwardly from each of said outer hexagons support and surround a smaller inner hexagon having oriented strands thus forming a plurality of trapezoidal openings and a single hexagonal opening. The oriented strands and partially oriented junctions of the outer hexagons form a plurality of linear strong axis strands that extend continuously throughout the entirety of the geogrid and form additional triangular openings. The geogrid thus includes three different repeating geometric shapes. The inner hexagons preferably also can move up and down, out of the plane of the geogrid. The multi-axial integral geogrid thus provides a geometry that can better engage with, confine and stabilize a greater variety and quality of aggregates.
