摘要： A video apparatus has a connector (2) for receiving a video signal and having at least a first pin (7) carrying a first signal, at least a second pin (11) carrying a second signal and at least a third pin (16) carrying a signal indicative of which of the first signal and the second signal defines the video signal at a given point in time. The first pin (7) and the second pin (11) are coupled to a video circuit (18) able to operate with at least two types of video signal. A detection circuit (4) connected to the third pin (16) determines a characteristic of the video signal based on the indicative signal, and control means responsive to said characteristic sends a control signal (CTL) whereby the video circuit (18) is forced to operate with one of said types of video signal.

摘要： A video apparatus has a digital encoder (4, 6) which receives a first analogue video signal (A1) with ancillary information in a given time window and generates on an output a digital stream (MPEG) based on the first analogue video signal (A1). A digital decoder (8) is connectable to this output to generate a second analogue video signal (A2). A switch (20) selects between the first analogue video signal (A1) and the second analogue video signal (A2) as an output depending on a control signal (CTL) based on the occurrence of said time window.
