摘要： The present invention relates to an improved jelly-roll structure, and more particularly, to a jelly-roll and to a secondary battery having same, wherein the jelly-roll is a jelly-roll-type electrode assembly formed as a wound roll with a separation film used so as to separate a positive electrode, including a positive active material coating portion on at least one surface of a positive electrode collector, from a negative electrode, including a negative active material coating portion on at least one surface of a negative collector. During discharge, a positive tab installed upward on an uncoated portion of the positive electrode at a predetermined angle with respect to a lengthwise direction of the positive electrode, and a negative tab installed upward on an uncoated portion of the negative electrode at a predetermined angle with respect to a lengthwise direction of the negative electrode, are disposed adjacent to one another so as to minimize a magnetic field generated by a positive electrode current and a negative electrode current. The positive electrode tab and negative electrode tab are located together on an outer end of the wound jelly-roll.

摘要： Provided is a rectangular rechargeable battery in which an electrode assembly consisting of an anode, a cathode and a separating film is hermetically sealed inside a rectangular battery casing; wherein the battery casing consists of an oblong main casing body which is open at its upper edge and consists of a metal material, and a casing cap which is joined to the open upper edge of the main casing body and comprises electrode terminals; the thickness of the main casing body is no more than 0.4 mm; a linear notch recess, which ruptures when high pressure occurs inside the battery, is formed on the main casing body showing a stress distribution of no more than 40% of the maximum stress (SMAX) of the casing in the high pressure state; and the notch recess has a structure such that the remaining thickness ("bent thickness") of the main casing body becomes thinner towards the centre from both ends in the length direction.
