摘要： A diesel engine comprises an air intake pipe (12) in which is arranged a throttle valve (16). In order to avoid operating conditions detrimental to the engine, for example if the maximum admissible engine speed is exceeded in an uncontrolled manner due to failure, the throttle valve (16) is provided with a drive mechanism (17) which holds it open in the absence of failures and places it in a closed position in the event of failures. The closed position of the throttle valve (16) is established in such a way that the air flow cross-section which remains is reduced to such an extent that the internal combustion engine continues to run even at idling speed and that it does not exceed a predetermined engine speed when supplied with an arbitrary quantity of fuel.

摘要： Fuel-metering device for a diesel internal combustion engine with an electronic control unit, to which are supplied signals from a lambda-probe which is located in the exhaust pipe. The signals supplied by the lambda-probe serve to place an upward limit on supply of fuel to the internal combustion engine e.g. to direct it in accordance with individual cylinder's requirements. An average is computed on the basis of several probe-produced signals which serves as a threshold, and when the signals from the probe exceed this threshold, the amount of fuel supplied to the cylinders is influenced in such a way that the output signal from the lambda-probe no longer exceeds said threshold. The device serves to monitor conventional flow governors and can also be used as a device for emergency operation.
