摘要： An air cooled double ended high pressure sodium lamp fixture for growing plants in confined indoor spaces. The fixture seals the lamp and heat generated by the same to a reflector interior. Flow disruptors create turbulence in a cooling chamber thereby enhancing thermal transfer into a cooling air stream that flows over and around the reflector's exterior side thereby convectively cooling the lamp using the reflector as a heat sink. The lamp is effectively maintained at operational temperatures and the fixture housing is insulated from the hotter reflector by a gap of moving cooling air, allowing use of the double ended HPS lamp in confined indoor growing spaces.

The process involves making measurements of total magnetic field at a plurality of locations over an area of interest, dividing the area of interest into a plurality of narrow parallel strips, performing a strip integral and forming and solving a system of linear equations to obtain a generalised projection. The process is then repeated to produce a plurality of generalised projections from the original measured data by performing strip integrals for a plurality of different orientations of the strips. The process is then completed by performing an inverse Radon transformation on the generalised projections to obtain the magnetic dipole moment density image data.

摘要： A scintillation detector comprising nano-scale particles of a scintillation compound embedded in a plastic matrix is provided. The nano-scale particles may be made from metal oxides, metal oxyhalides, metal oxysulfides, or metal halides. Methods are provided for preparing the nano-scale particles. The particles may be coated with organic compounds or polymers prior to incorporation in the plastic matrix. A technique for matching the refractive index of the plastic matrix with the nano-scale particles by incorporating nano-scale particles of titanium dioxide is also provided. The scintillator may be coupled with one or more photodetectors to form a scintillation detection system. The scintillation detection system may be adapted for use in X-ray and radiation imaging devices, such as digital X-ray imaging, mammography, CT, PET, or SPECT, or may be used in radiation security detectors or subterranean radiation detectors.

摘要： The invention relates to a flexible finger implant (1), particularly for the metacarpal phalangeal (MCP) joints. The implant is a single piece moulded construction, consisting of two stems (2, 4), which fit in the bone canals of the metacarpal and phalangeal bones respectively. The stems are connected by a hinge mechanism. It has been established that during flexion the natural MCP joint of the hand, rotates around 5° from the lateral to the medial side. The invention has an asymmetrical hinge (6), being thicker on the lateral side than on the medial side (of the finger). This causes the implant to rotate around 5° to the medial side during flexion.
