    • This disclosure generally relates to various directional input units of a mobile communication terminal, where such directional input units receive a single user input or multiple concurrent user inputs and then acquires at least one selecting (user) sub-input therefrom while a terminal is in its powered-off state or its off-state. After acquiring the selecting user sub-input, a terminal runs at least one pre-selected operation which is selected from a set of multiple pre-selected operations and which matches the selecting user sub-input when a terminal powers on from its powered-off state or wakes up from its off-state. A directional input unit may acquire the selecting user sub-input from a movement of at least a portion thereof, a contact between at least a portion thereof and a user body part, or the like. As a result, a terminal can provide a user with more seamless operations.

    • The present invention generally relates to various multicolor writing tools and methods thereof for applying multiple volatile marking substances one at a time. More particularly, the present invention relates to multicolor writing tools including a case member, a cartridge member, a cap member, and an actuator member. The case member forms an interior in which is disposed the cartridge member with the multiple cartridges each of which defines a body containing one of the marking substances therein and a tip through which such a marking substances is applied. The cap member varies and restores at least one configuration thereof, while the actuator member changes the configuration and exposes one of the tips selected by an user out of said interior when the tool is in use, and then restores such a configuration and encloses all of said tips inside the interior when the tool is not in use. Therefore, such writing tools preferably open the cap member in response to input force applied to other parts of the tools by the user, without having to require the user to engage in a separate maneuver to remove the cap member from such tools.

    • The invention features a vacuum-coupling device for releasably securing a movable article to a surface of a supporting object. In general, the securing device includes a contact member and a securing member. One portion of the contact member forms a releasable coupling with the movable article, and another portion of the contact member forms a contact space on the surface of the supporting object. The securing member discharges air from the contact space. The vacuum created in the contact space secures the contact member to the surface of the supporting object, thereby securing the equipment to the surface of the supporting object as well. The contact member forms a contact space on the surface of the supporting object and the securing member creates a vacuum in the contact space such that the equipment secures itself directly to the surface of the supporting object.
