摘要： An optical system for a digital light projection system is provided. The optical system comprises a plurality of LED arrays, wherein each LED array comprises a plurality of LEDs. The optical system also comprises an optical concentrator element positioned substantially adjacent to each of the LED arrays, wherein each concentrator element totally internally reflects light emitted from the plurality of LEDs within the corresponding LED array so as to provide substantially uniform light at an output surface of each concentrator element. The optical system preferably further comprises an optical combiner element, wherein the output surface of each concentrator element is positioned substantially adjacent to a corresponding side of the combiner element, and wherein the combiner element spatially combines the substantially uniform light provided at the output surface of each concentrator element so as to form substantially white light at an output surface of the combiner element. In one embodiment, the plurality of LED arrays consists of 3 LED arrays, wherein the 3 LED arrays consist of 3 single-color LED arrays, and wherein each of the 3 single-color LED arrays is of a different color from one another.

摘要： An optical system for a digital light projection system is provided. The optical system comprises a plurality of LED arrays, wherein each LED array comprises a plurality of LEDs. The optical system also comprises an optical concentrator element positioned substantially adjacent to each of the LED arrays, wherein each concentrator element reflects light emitted from the plurality of LEDs within the corresponding LED array. The optical system preferably further comprises a reflective aperture element positioned substantially adjacent to the output surface of each concentrator element. Light beams that are emitted from an RGB LED light source (1, 2, 3) pass through a light pipe (8), then color combination and combined focusing occur. The light beams emitted from the light pipe produce a homogenous beam of light without any loss of light through the LED lens (14). This configuration makes it possible to produce an LED projection display system with high efficiency and a supercompact size.

摘要： A beam-shaping optical element, an illumination optical system that contains the beam-shaping optical element, and a laser projection display system that contains the illumination optical system is provided. The beam-shaping optical element is composed of a Diffraction Optical Element (DOE) lens array and a focusing lens. These components change the RGB laser beams to those having a rectangular shape and an intensity distribution made uniform regardless of the directions or locations of the entering light beams. The beam-shaping optical element makes high efficiency, ultra-compact size, and low cost of a laser projection display system possible.
