    • A method for producing a data carrier with a see-through portion is disclosed. The method includes applying a layer of separation material to a surface of one of an at least translucent layer and a backing layer, and fixedly attaching the other of the translucent layer and the backing layer to that surface of the layer. The separation material prevents a part of the backing layer abutting it from being completely fixedly attached to the translucent layer. The method further includes removing at least a portion of the backing layer abutting the separation material to uncover a portion of the translucent layer adjacent the portion of the backing layer. The uncovered portion of the translucent layer defines a see-through portion of the data carrier. A data carrier with such a see-through portion is also disclosed.

    • The invention relates to a secure identification document having two main surfaces (S1, S2 ; S3,S4) and at least one edge, and comprising at least two constitution layers (20,22 ; 24,26), said identification document allowing preventing any separation of its constitution layers, by delamination for example, said separation being otherwise immediately apparent.     • A method of producing a data carrier (3) with a marking is disclosed. The data carrier (3) includes a laser-markable portion (14) and a beam-modifying portion (18) adjacent the laser-markable portion (14). The beam-modifying (10) portion (18) has a beam modifying property. The method includes irradiating a laser beam (34) through the beam-modifying portion (18) to allow the beam modifying property thereof to modify at least one beam property to produce a resultant laser beam (38). This resultant laser beam (38) creates a marking (36) with a visual impression corresponding to the resultant laser beam (38) at the (15) laser-markable portion (14). The method further includes modifying (48) the beam modifying property of at least a part of the beam-modifying portion (18) through which the laser beam (34) is irradiated for creating the marking (36) so that the exact same resultant beam (38) is difficult to be obtained thereat. A data carrier thereby produced is also disclosed.
