    • When not alkali-resistant glass granulates shall be rendered suitable by means of a coloured coating as an aggregate for cement-/hydraulic-bound and surface-ground cut stone or terrazzo floors, it is required from said coating that it undetachably adheres to the surface of the glass grains, forms an efficient barrier against alkaline influences and ensures a strong adhesive composite with a cement-/hydraulic-bound surrounding matrix while having a layer thickness that is as small as possible. The present invention meets these requirements in that the coating of the glass grain (A) consists of a pigmented, originally water-based, silanized reaction resin (B) which has a plating of very thin, overlying mica flakes (C) and is enclosed on the outer surface (D) by an optionally pigmented mixture of cement powder and rock flour. Said enclosure causes a smooth transition from the organic-polymer to an inorganic-hydraulic binding phase.

    • In contrast to conventional cement- or polymer-bound cut stone, these slabs (A) contain not only aggregates which consist of a technically reasonable grading curve of fine, medium-fine and coarser grain sizes. Moreover, said slabs contain large-dimensioned transparent glass bodies (B) which extend from the slab front side to the slab rear side of the slab and ensure that light can flow from one side to the other side of the cut stone slab. The subject matter for which protection is sought relates furthermore to the technical solutions in order to maximize the intensity and optical attractiveness of the light flow by a light-scattering conditioning of the surfaces on the bottom or rear side of the incorporated glass bodies and by a light-reflecting coating of the boundary surfaces of the glass bodies on the side of the cut stone. The cut stone slabs according to the invention can be used in a versatile manner as individually prefabricated components, especially in interior construction.
