    • The invention concerns a method and device for the integral casting of metal strip close to its final dimensions on strip-casting equipment with a melt-storage vessel and a conveyor belt. A metal melt, in particular a steel melt, flows out through a nozzle from a closable melt-pouring chamber which can be switched to underpressure and is connected by a syphon to a main chamber which can be placed under pressure. The method proposed is characterized by a series of operations designed to prevent air bubbles rising in the melt from causing uncontrollable constrictions in parts of the nozzle and hence perturbing the spreading out of the melt on the conveyor belt. The strip-casting equipment for casting the metal strip close to its final dimensions has a conveyor belt and a melt-storage vessel comprising a main chamber and a melt-pouring chamber with a shut-off element which closes off access to the nozzle. The equipment is characterized in that the nozzle (14) is inclined at an angle of about 45 DEG and its mouth (15) is trumpet-shaped at the end (16) remote from the main chamber (11) and that the nozzle (14) is fitted, near the nozzle mouth (15), with a shut-off element which forms a slit-shaped aperture when opened.
