摘要： This invention relates to a washing machine drum (2) which provides the advantage that two different washes can be washed simultaneously by providing a drum having at least two defined compartments (4, 6). For example, the drum can be separated such that coloured laundry and white laundry may be washed independently, thus preventing contamination. The drum comprises a generally round cross-sectional area and has a longitudinal length and further comprises at least two compartments positioned longitudinally side by side. The compartments are defined by a partitioning means (8) extending through the origin of the generally round cross-sectional area of the drum.

摘要： The present invention relates to a washing appliance and more specifically a laundry appliance. The first aspect of the present invention relates to a drum for a washing machine that allows increased capacity without the need to increase the size of the overall appliance. The drum comprises a receptacle having a solid outer wall with at least one aperture and means for guiding liquid purged from laundry toward the aperture such that the liquid is expelled. The present application further extends to a water supply system for a washing machine having a reservoir enabling water to flow between the drum and the reservoir, such that water is retained in the reservoir between wash cycles. The present application further extends to a programming system for an aperture that is simple to control accurately. The programming system comprises a single manual control means, a display means and a plurality of actionable events, these events being represented graphically on the display means and the control means being able to select in combination a plurality of actionable events. The present application further extends to a drive linkage that is suitable for a washing appliance, that enables longitudinal relative movement between two or more components, m particular, the drive linkage links at least one rotatable input means and one rotatably mounted output means such that rotation of one causes rotation of the other via the drive linkage, the drive linkage comprising at least one linkage member configured to enable longitudinal relative movement between the input and output means. The fifth aspect of present invention relates to a dispensing apparatus for dispensing a suitable amount of washing substance to a wash. The system comprises a reservoir for holding a number of doses of wash substance, regulating means to release a pre-determined quantity of substance in response to a control signal, where the control signal causes the regulating means to open the reservoir for a sufficient period of time to release the substance.
