    • This invention relates to dental equipment comprising a dental unit, having an arrangement of water lines and associated dental appliances; and an electrolytic device, for producing an electrolytically activated, microcidal aqueous solution for use in the elimination and control of biofilm in dental unit water lines, the solution being characterised in having a pH of between 6.75 and 10 with microcidal as well as anti-oxidising, dispersing and surfactant properties, rendering the solution bio-compatible and non-corrosive as well as capable of eliminating biofilm in dental unit water lines while simultaneously dispersing and dislodging the biofilm from the water lines so as to reduce the micro-organisms to a predetermined level of micro-organisms in the dental water; and means for introducing the aqueous solution into the water lines for treating the biofilm.     • The invention relates to a method of increasing CO2 concentrations in a plant environment and to a solution for use in treating plants so as to increase CO2 concentrations in the same. The method comprises the step of applying a bicarbonate or carbonate solution to the plant environment, and more specifically applying the bicarbonate or carbonate solution to roots and/or foliage of plants. The method may include the step of pre-activating the bicarbonate or carbonate solution before application to enhance ready availability of CO2 to the plants in the form of bicarbonate ions, by pre-treating the solution in a flow-through electrolytic module. The bicarbonate or carbonate solution is prepared from a dilute bicarbonic and/or carbonic acid and/or from their various corresponding bicarbonate and/or carbonate salts, and may also contain small amounts of various organic acids, such as methanoic, ethanoic (acetic), propionic or similar acids and/or their corresponding salts.
