摘要： A security seal (10) comprises a strap portion (12) made of plastic and a lock portion (14) attached to the strap portion. The lock portion (14) includes a metal jaw with an aperture. In use, the strap portion (12) is guided into the lock portion (14) and pulled to provide an interference fit between the lock portion (14) and the strap portion (12). The security seal (10) deters tampering since efforts to pull the strap portion (12) will either result in snapping of the strap portion (12) or visible stress- induced damage to the strap portion (12).

摘要： A compact tube sealer for sealing a polymeric tube, the tube sealer comprising: clamping jaws comprising a fixed jaw and a movable jaw movable between a rest position where the tube may be placed or removed from between the clamping jaws and an activated position where the tube is diametrally compressed between the clamping jaws; an energy generator provided to raise a temperature of the tube to its melting point when the movable jaw is in the activated position, the energy generator comprising one of: a radio frequency (RF) generator to provide RF through the tube via the clamping jaws, and heating elements to heat the clamping jaws and consequently the tube; a lever to actuate movement of the movable jaw from the rest position to the activated position when the lever is depressed; and a resilient member biased against movement of the movable jaw towards the fixed jaw so as to return the movable jaw from the activated position to the rest position when the lever is released.

摘要： An apparatus and method for forming barbed sutures, the apparatus comprising: a mould comprising at least one set of mould inserts, wherein the mould cavity comprises a core-shaped cavity configured to form the core of the barbed suture therein and a plurality of barb-shaped cavities configured to form the barbs of the barbed suture therein, wherein the core-shaped cavity is defined by all the mould inserts in each set of mould inserts together and wherein each barb-shaped cavity is defined by two adjacent mould inserts in each set of mould inserts when the mould is in the close position; a suture cartridge configured to present at least one length of suture for moulding in the mould cavity to form the barbed suture therefrom; and heating elements provided to heat the mould inserts during compression moulding of the length of suture in the mould cavity.
