    • A cable control (9) in which the output shaft (37) of the transmission (19) is formed in a single piece with a head plate (57). The head plate (57) is so designed that it can be inserted into a receptacle (66) of the tubular shaped cable drum (17). The head plate (57) is screwed down onto the cable drum (17) by radial dowel screws (72). At the other end of the cable drum (17) a recess (67) is provided, in which a similar head plate (75) is screwed in the same way. This other plate supports a bearing journal (76). This arrangement simplifies the manufacture of the cable drum (17) and the whole assembly, thereby avoiding expensive cardan joints between the output shaft (37) and the cable drum (17) through the positioning of the drum (17) by means of the output shaft (37) of the transmission (9). Moreover the cable drum (9) can be dismantled into small sub-assemblies for transport purposes.
