    • Described is a safety device for moving parts which are powered by a motor to close off an opening, in particular a motor-vehicle window or sliding roof. The invention calls for motor rpm to be permanently determined at successive intervals, the motor rpm being taken as a measure of the force acting on the glass panel. The last four rpm values measured are stored in a shift register and processed. To this end, an initial value is first determined. Provided the difference D between the instantaneous value ni and the third-last value ni-3 does not exceed a given threshold value Dmax, the third-last value is taken as the initial value, the initial value remaining the same as long as this condition is met. The difference A between the initial value and the instantaneous value ni is then calculated. If this difference lies above a given trigger threshold value Amax, the emergency stop is triggered.
