摘要： A computer implemented apparatus, and computer usable program code for automatically obtaining vehicle data. In one advantageous embodiment a computer implemented method monitors a vehicle for events over a wireless interface. In response to receiving an event sent over the wireless interface by the vehicle, a determination is made whether vehicle data is needed for the event based on a policy. A request for the vehicle data is sent over the wireless interface to the vehicle in response to a determination that vehicle data is needed. The vehicle data is stored in response to receiving the vehicle data over the wireless interface from the vehicle. The vehicle data stored after receiving the vehicle data from the vehicle is analyzed to form an analysis. A set of fault conditions may be identified using the analysis.

摘要： A system, method, and computer program product for predicting failure of a vehicle system or subsystem by using statistical analysis of prior maintenance messages and vehicle failures, such that the predictions of failures may be incorporated into a vehicle monitoring and reporting system. Maintenance message data and vehicle system or subsystem failure data are collected from a central maintenance computer of a vehicle, such as an aircraft. This maintenance message and vehicle system or subsystem failure data are analyzed to discern relationships between maintenance messages and vehicle system or subsystem failures which will enable future failures to be predicted. By predicting future failures, maintenance can be performed in time to prevent the vehicle failure and thereby avoid unnecessary costs and unscheduled interruptions of vehicle operations.

摘要： Automated processing of electronic log book (ELB) pilot reports (PIREPs) are configured to receive ELB PIREPs and prioritize observed faults and potential observed faults included in the ELB PIREPs. In one mode, automated processing involves receiving an observed fault report representing an observed fault. A knowledge base of fault cost data is accessed, facilitating the observed fault being correlated with corresponding fault cost data in the knowledge base of fault cost data. A relative fault cost is determined for the observed fault based on the corresponding fault cost data in the knowledge base. Based on the relative fault cost, a priority is assigned to the observed fault based on the relative fault cost. The priority assigned is communicated to those tasked with remedying observed faults, allowing die highest priority faults to receive the most immediate attention.
