摘要： A jewelry closure (2, 102) includes a plate-like member (8, 112) attached to a first part (4, 104) of a jewelry closure (2, 102). The plate-like member (8, 112) engages a complementarily shaped portion (12, 116) of a second part (6, 106) of the jewelry closure (2, 102) when the jewelry closure (2, 102) is secured. The jewelry closure (2, 102) may include either a mechanical closure (8, 112) alone or both a magnetic closure (104, 106) and a mechanical closure (8, 112), thus preventing the magnetic closure (104, 106) from being opened inadvertently. The jewelry closure (2, 102) may be disposed on a hinged ring (60, 160) for wearing on a finger and is particularly useful for a wearer having swollen or arthritic knuckles. Other uses include use on a bracelet, hinged charm (52, 156) or on a ring-like closure (40, 140) for joining ends of a chain (56, 158).

摘要： A jewelry closure (2) includes a pair of closure members (6, 8) for magnetically engaging together. One or both of the closure members (6, 8) includes a magnet. The jewelry closure (2) is secured by a clip (18) attached to the outer surface of the casing (4). In closed position the clip (18) prevents the closure members (6, 8) from being separated when the jewelry closure (2) is secured.
