摘要： In accordance with the present invention, a vending machine (100) includes a number of failure control devices (1525, 1526, 1409, 1517, 1518) that monitor and control the functioning of the various components in the vending machine to ensure uniform quality of food products to be sold to a customer. One specific embodiment includes plurality of oven failure control devices (1517, 1518), a freezer failure control device (1525, 1526) and a power failure control device (1409). When a microcontroller (1404) in the vending machine (100) determines the occurrence of a failure, the microcontroller displays a failure message on a customer display (105) and discontinues vending food until the failure is corrected, for example, by an operator. In another aspect of this invention, the vending machine (100) includes a mechanism for operating a door of a refrigeration compartment of the vending machine. The mechanism includes a motor driven rotary link coupled to a roller that moves in a slot of the door.

A magazine empty indicator automatically indicates when an inventory magazine (202) is empty. 摘要： An air dispensing apparatus (10) for providing an oscillating mass of hot air to facilitate crisping and browning of a trayed foodstuff includes an oscillating shoe( 30) extending from an air introduction chamber having a blower (15) and a volute duct (14) exit and an insulating shaft (40) rotatively connecting an inner end of the shoe (30) to the volute duct (14) exit. The shaft (40) includes a square cross-section portion which transfers torque from a crankdriven oscillator link (48) directly to a matching square cross-section bore or aperture in a side wall of the shoe inner end. A hitch pin (42) at the opposite shaft end prevents axial shaft movement. The insulating shaft (40) eliminates arcing between the volute and the shoe (30). The invention also includes an improved separator screen (70) for grounding a perforated plate to the air introduction chamber (11) and an overall housing to prevent arcing therebetween.

摘要： In accordance with the present invention, a vending machine (100) has one or more programmable cook cycles for use with one or more heat sources in cooking a food package to be dispensed to the customer. In one embodiment of this invention, each cook cycle includes a start time and a duration. Each cook cycle is associated with a heat source and a product code indicating the type of food to be cooked. Initially, cook cycles are copied into a random access memory (305) from default cook cycles hard coded in the software program code and stored in electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) (306) of the vending machine controller (208). The cook cycles in RAM can be over written by an operator for the various type of foods to be cooked. The cook cycles in RAM are used by the vending machine (100) to automatically cook a food product selected by a customer, without any further inputs.
