    • The present invention relates to a secondary battery provided with an electrode assembly, which is embedded in a prismatic can, wherein the electrolyte injection port of a base plate, which is mounted on the open top of the prismatic can, comprises an upper portion having a structure of a chamfer with the diameter of the inner surface decreasing in the bottom direction, and a lower portion with a non-chamfer structure which is formed in continuation with the chamfer structure. The present invention provides a secondary battery in which the sealing member, which is modified into the shape of the electrolyte injection port, comes into close contact with the chamfer structure due to shear stress between the chamfer structure and the sealing member, when the sealing member is press-fitted into the electrolyte injection port, and performs sealing by means of friction force with the non-chamfer structure. The secondary battery, according to the present invention, reduces the rate of defect and can enhance sealing performance even without a welding process.
