    • A temperature and humidity control system consists of an air cooling dehumidifier (2), an air heater (4) and a humidifier (5) arranged in the mentioned order, a dehumidifying and cooling means in the air cooling dehumidifier being composed of a thermoelement utilizing the Peltier effect, the humidifier being composed of a plurality of hollow yarn units (23) each of which is made up of a hollow yarn (26) having a thermal resistance, and a thin metal wire (25) constituting a heater and wound around the outer circumferential surface of the hollow yarn, a means for supplying water to the hollow yarn units, and a means for supplying an electric current to the thin metal wires. A control method for this temperature and humidity control system consists of the steps of measuring the temperature and relative humidity of the air at an outlet of the temperature and humidity control system, calculating an absolute humidity with respect to the relative humidity, determining the difference between the measured temperature of the air at the outlet of the system and a set temperature, operating the air heater and air cooling dehumidifier as much as a manipulated variable that corresponds to this difference, determining the difference between an absolute humidity at the outlet of the system and a set absolute humidity calculated in advance, and operating the humidifier and air cooling dehumidifier as much as a manipulated variable that corresponds to this difference.
