摘要： A filter assembly for separating microcarriers from a fluid medium includes a collapsible container bounding a sterile compartment adapted to hold a fluid. An inlet port is attached to the container through which fluid flows into the compartment. An outlet port is attached to the container through which fluid flows out of the compartment. A filter is disposed within the compartment, the filter dividing the compartment into an inlet chamber that is fluidly coupled with the inlet port and an outlet chamber that is fluidly coupled with the outlet port, the filter allowing a medium to pass therethrough but preventing microcarriers disposed in the medium from passing therethrough.

摘要： A port fitting for use with a barbed fluid connector includes a plug having a first end and an opposing second end with a guide outwardly projecting from the second end. An O-ring is disposed on and encircling the plug. A pair of elongated arms project alongside the length of the plug. Each arm has a first end secured to the first end of the plug and an opposing second end that is freely disposed so that the arms can be flexed by manipulation of the second end. Each arm has a catch that inwardly projects toward to the guide. In one embodiment the guide terminates at an end wall and a channel extends through the plug and guide to the end wall. An optical sensor is mounted on the end wall.

摘要： A method and system for achieving a gas-liquid mass transfer includes delivering into a compartment of a container a liquid, the liquid having an exposed top surface disposed within the compartment. A stream of a gas is passed over the top surface of the liquid so that the stream of gas produces turbulence on the top surface that is sufficient to achieve the gas-liquid mass transfer. In one embodiment the liquid is a culture that includes cells or microorganisms and the mass transfer functions to oxygenate the culture sufficient to sustain the cells or microorganisms.

摘要： The present invention relates to a package for storing, mixing, resuspending, and dispensing sterile or non-sterile solutions or suspensions. The invention comprises a collapsible, sterilizable bag (1) having fittings for tubes (13, 15) which provide for the introduction and exit of fluids and solids into and out of the bag (1). A mixing block (60) having spray arms (66) is also provided within the bag (1) for mixing and resuspending the contents within the collapsible bag (1). Dip tubes (10, 11) are provided to withdraw liquid from the bag and is recirculated through a return tube (12) which is connected to the mixing block (60). The recirculated liquid is channeled to spray arms (66) and is reintroduced into the bag (1) through ports (64, 69) thereby providing a closed loop system for mixing. Additionally, a structural support device (2) is provided for supporting the collapsible bag during shipment, filling, and dispensing. Unlike conventional stainless steeel equipment, the system is disposable, does not require cleaning, provides for safe, rapid and accurate resuspension of suspended solids, and can accommodate a wide range of liquid volumes.

A flexible bag is disposed within the chamber of the support housing, the flexible bag having an interior surface bounding a compartment. An impeller is disposed within the chamber of the flexible bag. A drive shaft is coupled with the impeller such that rotation of the drive shaft facilitates rotation of the impeller. A drive motor assembly is coupled with the draft shaft and is adapted to rotate the drive shaft. An adjustable arm assembly is coupled with the drive motor assembly and is adapted to move the drive motor assembly which in turn moves the position of the drive shaft and impeller. An electrical controller can control movement of the adjustable arm.
