摘要： Low formaldehyde emission wood based panels are described. These wood based panels have an outer surface layer comprised of a resin composition comprising a naturally occurring component or derivative thereof which is chemically bound to an aromatic hydroxyl compound-aldehyde resin (ncPF). The advantages of having an outer surface layer of the resin composition comprising ncPF, is that the outer surface layer can act as a surface sealer to reduce migration of components from the core of the wood based panel to the surface. The outer surface layer is pleasing to the consumer because it forms light colored faces on the wood based panel. It is also a superior surface for after treatment, such as for example, painting, when compared to amino or phenol resins. In addition, the outer surface layer comprising the inventive resin composition comprising ncPF can lend added fire-retardancy to the wood based panel.

摘要： Resin compositions (A) and (B) are described: wherein resin composition (A) comprises a naturally occurring component or derivative thereof comprising protein, an aromatic hydroxyl compound-aldehyde resin and an amino resin, wherein the naturally occurring component or derivative thereof is chemically bound to the aromatic hydroxyl compound-aldehyde resin to form an ncPF resin and the naturally occurring component or derivative thereof is optionally chemically bound to the amino resin; wherein resin composition (B) comprises a condensation product of a naturally occurring component or derivative thereof, an aromatic hydroxyl compound-aldehyde resin and at least 20 wt% of urea based on the total mass of the resin composition, wherein at least 50wt% of the naturally occurring component or derivative thereof is chemically bound directly or indirectly to the aromatic hydroxyl compound-aldehyde resin (ncPF), and wherein the naturally occurring component or derivative thereof comprises protein. The resin compositions can be used as a binder for lignocellulosic or cellulosic materials which have an excellent combination of low formaldehyde emissions and high strength. Also described are low formaldehyde emissions wood products comprising unique binder combinations.

摘要： Die Erfindung betrifft ein Bindemittel zur Herstellung von Werkstoffen auf Holzspan- und/oder Holzfaserbasis. Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es demnach, ein Bindemittel für die Herstellung und Verklebung von Werkstoffen auf Holz- span- und/oder Holzfaserbasis bereitzustellen, das natürliche Proteinkomponenten enthält und welches die Nachteile des Standes der Technik deutlich verringert oder sogar vermeidet und überdies wirtschaftlich herstellbar und einsetz- bar ist. Die Lösung der Aufgabe erfolgt mit einem Bindemittel für Werkstoffe auf Holzspan- und/oder Holzfaserbasis, umfassend ein auf einem Aldehyd basierenden Kondensationsharz und weitere Zusätze, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass es ein wasserlösliches reaktives Additiv aufweist, das ein Peptid/Aminosäurengemisch ohne Anteile an wasserunlöslichen und hochviskosen Proteinen enthält, einem Verfahren zur Herstellung des Bindemittels und einem Formkörper.
